Policies

  • We are a no-kill shelter. Unless determination is made by our veterinarian that the animal has non-recoverable illness or injuries, or is deemed totally unadoptable and unreturnable to the wild, if it is feral, we will provide it a home until we find it a permanent one. There is a person out there for every animal, sometimes it just takes awhile for them to find each other.

  • The purpose of CCNP is to provide shelter and medical care to abandoned, stray, injured, or surrendered cats/dogs, and to find them permanent, loving homes. Our adoption application is to help us make the best match for you and your new family member so that you have a rewarding lifetime together. Please understand, a new family member is likely to be scared when it first goes home. Allow two weeks for adjustments.

  • We will not provide or donate any animal for use in labs, or other types of testing.

  • We will hold specific animals only with a deposit. Our adoption fee is $100 for cats/kittens and $200 for dogs/puppies, unless stated otherwise. This includes their spay/neuter, wellness exam, UTD Vaccines, Rabies, fecal exam, deworming, flea/tick prevention, microchip, FelV/FIV testing (cats), and HW Test/Treatment if positive (dogs). The deposit fee is $30 per animal.

  • We do not adopt animals during holidays. We will hold a deposit for a specific animal until seven days after the holiday. If arrangements have not been made to pick up the animal by that time, the deposit is nonrefundable.

  • Payments can be made by cash, check, credit/debit card, or money order.

  • We make follow-up visits to adoptive homes to ensure the new family member is adjusting properly.

  • Cats will be indoors only unless agreed upon by CCNP's Founder.

  • Dogs will be indoors, outside kennels (6'x6' minimum), and/or a fenced backyard. If you do NOT have a fenced yard for dogs, they WILL be walked on a leash, NOT roaming free. They are NOT to be tied up. If this situation is found, the dog will be immediately removed and adoption revoked.

  • If any animal is left outside in extreme cold, the animal will be removed. We believe treating animals as humans to a point. How would you like to be outside in the cold for long periods of time?

  • Water is to be clean, fresh, and provided 24/7. Food should be given a minimum of twice per day.
